Every now and then I'll use the underbarrel shotty, but not very often. If I want to shotgun people, I'll typically just run an actual shotgun [they're really good in BP; seems a shame to waste that]. Usually an M590 is my first choice.
You have to hit X on your keyboard to change the firing function to the grenade launcher. Hope this helps. I just started a couple of weeks back and now want to try the engineer class. I spent some cash on the underbarrel grenade launcher attachment since the class technique uses explosive damage. All the research has said that guns like the 416, VHS-D2 could use it.
