I started having kidney pain that would wake me at night. I chose taper off the BP med and began to limit sodium intake to 1500mg per day not exceeding 2000 mg and taking 300mg of potassium supplement daily along with D3 vitamin. I eat 1 cup of oatmeal and 6 oz of blueberries every day. Pleased to say I no longer take Hydrochlorothiazide.
