Soldier/Demo should work OK. You can tie rifles into Fire Strike, and also get a Soldier combat skill other than Cadence, in case you feel the urge to do melee. Or just pump up Soldier defensive skills and take Fire Strike and another Demo attack form. Grenado, Stun-jacks, Mortars or whatever suits your fancy. #4.
