Feb 15, 2017 · I've recently begun playing Stellaris again, in anticipation for Utopia (which looks very good!), and have run into some problems. The Unbidden spawned roughly 200 years in, so I send my 120k fleet to take them on. I destroy their fleets and stations and proceed to engage their portal. Problem is, now my fleet is just floating around the portal ... Not destroying the ship increases the chance of the Unbidden showing up and makes it earlier. Or it used to. Not sure if they changed it. If you're not a ME or Hivemind accepting the ship will create a new faction of xenophiles I think. So a few years after the Unbidden turn up the Extradimensional Portal suddenly became it's own faction. It shows up in the contacts as a neutral faction and it's only unit is the portal itself. Since this happened the Unbidden have made no further expansion attempts and just sit still in their already captured systems.

I used the following image to test the alignments: Dimensions are 475 by 350. A quick test with a file with height 330 showed no immediate difference in alignment. A different width than 475 would affect results though. Aligned to the bottom right is a square of 300 by 300 pixels.

Also, fun fact: the "Dimensional Portal Researcher" jobs it creates are the same ones made by the "Dimensional Doorway" colony event. So if you enact Extradimensional Research on that planet, every single new dimensional portal researcher will give whatever the original ones normally gave, which, yes, can include dark matter for the Null Void portal.I was researching a dimensional portal when i got an intercom from me from another dimension.
