Actually size and weight do matter to me, at least a 4" barrel, the SR 22 has a 4" model, the P322 is right in that range also as is the Glock 44 22lr. I didn't mention Kel Tec because I've already narrowed it down to the models/ Brands I mentioned.
For those still on the fence between the two you might want to wait a bit longer as Taurus will be releasing a compact version of the TX22. It will be similar to the original, but has a removable top plate similar to the P322 for a micro red dot. Plinkster22 just did a video on it. Check it out!

The P322 is finicky to load, but load it right and it runs like a clock. Personally I'll take 16 easy to load rounds over 20 finicky to load any day. Accuracy wise, with my guns I have to give a slight nod to the Sig even with an inch shorter barrel than my TX22 Comp. The P322 was a ground-up development from SIG. The pistol was not based on any previous models and is a stand-alone design in their lineup. Both the P322 and P322-COMP frames are polymer, with a hard coat anodized alloy slide housing a 4-inch suppressor-ready barrel and are internal hammer-fired (single-action-only).Went with the Tx 22 because of reports that it can shoot anything. From what I read the P22 can have trouble with cheaper bulk ammo (including thunderbolts). Otherwise they seemed to be well matched. Also the p22 is outsourced so it doesn't really carry the same build quality as other Walters like the ppq. 2.The S&W and Ruger pistols have 3.6- and 31/2-inch barrels, respectively, both hold 10 rounds to the TX 22’s 13. TX has 16 rd mag vs 12 for PPQ. I instruct with a 9mm PPQ so an identical 22 is a good trainer for me. I like the TX trigger better. The TX reset is excellent. The PPQ22 rear sight is terrible. If u have a migration to other higher caliber Walthers, I’d go with the PPQ.
