Tundra 4lo light flashing.
I had this happened on my 2008 Toyota Tundra with the 5.7L engine In the summer of 2021 with 220k miles. The shop replaced a wheel speed sensor and the fuel cap gasket. I used it this last Saturday with 4Hi for a few hours and everything was fine. Next morning the 4Lo light was flashing along with all the other lights as described above.

Made it half way there (I-80 West) and noticed 4 LO flashing and TRAC OFF/CHECK ENGINE light on. Headed over to Toyota dealer that truck was purchased from - they reviewed codes and said it was showing a "lean" code. Asked me if I put E85 in it (nope). The next morning all kinds of lights were on and/or flashing - VSC, 4 Hi, 4 Lo, ALSD, Check Engine - and key on/key off did nothing to help the whole day, though it seemed to drive just fine. When I got home I pulled the negative cable and noticed lots of corrosion built up around it.
Just took my truck in today as the 4 lo and VSC off were flashing and the check engine light and skidding car warning lights were on. The truck has 70k miles and no longer under warranty. Upon further inspection I forgot to connect the MAF sensor. Even after reconnecting the MAF the truck only cranks but never runs, with 4lo flashing but no check engine light. Things I have done:-Checked all fuses, even swapped fuel pump & fog lamp fuses-Tried both keys plus valet key (immobilizer light extinguished once key is in ignition)
they are actuator sensors down on the transfer case. one tells if it's in 4low or not, and one tells it if its in 4hi or not. I accidentally unplugged the 4low one instead of the 4hi one because I think the 4hi one is bad, but I'm not sure. before today I could engage and disengage my 4hi and 4low with no problems, other than the blinking 4hi ...

Jun 30, 2014 · Yes, I finally got to it and fix it. It was the 4wd actuator switch on the transfer case. Toyota want almost $1000 for that part alone and you'll still have to open the transfer case up to pull the actuator off. Instead I went a bought an used whole transfer case for $600 and put it on. No more 4lo flashing and my 4hi and 4lo work now. Usually when there is a problem your check engine light or some other light will light up not the maintenance light. If you have your manual it should tell you what a flashes 4Lo light indicates. As you said I would try cleaning the actuator plugs first.
