The R262 contract was cancelled when it was decided that CBTC would not be expanded in the IRT, so we can get another 10-20 years out of the 62s. R46 was fine on A, but now it gets old on N/Q. The A has the oldest and the newest cars. When they linked them up and renumbered them in 1993 they mixed them up. The G will use only R211’s, while the R uses both R160A-2's and R211’s. The E and F will keep both R160A-2’s and R160B’s, although the F might use R211's during rush hours. B82 SBS runs express from Southwest to Southeast Brooklyn, running past transit deserts like Bath Beach, East Midwood, Flatlands and Canarsie.
