It just makes shooting much easier. My review scope has the standard, out-of-the-box turret system. However, the VX-5HD 3-15x44mm CDS-ZL2 has Leupold's zero lock that lets you loosen the turret and place it back on '0' once you have the scope set to your preferred sight-in.
