Jul 21, 2020 · The starter run on could be caused by bad solenoid, starter switch/kill switch holding the connection, bad starter circuit relay in the junction box, or bad starter relay. Of course, cannot totally rule out a wiring issue. Would take apart the kill and starter switch and clean contacts. Would also replace the starter relay (they are inexpensive).

Don't know about the top speed issue, but the intermittent stalling situation as you describe it would appear to be caused by an intermittent electrical fault. If your fuel delivery is marginal then debaffling could result in some loss of power. Your results are not typical; you may need to add a fuel processor.

IT seems that the orignal owner had cobra pipes put on the bike and he basically left only 1 inch of the baffle in there ( pulled it today and measured it ).

2002 kawasaki vulcan 800 classic. ok, I've read alot of threads on this but nothing helps. My bike runs very well after warming up. The bike pops thru the carb and yes it's thru the carb. When I got the bike it leaked gas into the crankcase (all of it the gas). After rebuild it runs like a badass but still pops at low rpms.900 classic,terrible suspension problems.
