This one was imported in 1975, and so I'm looking to have my existing '83 rifle re-barreled, the PSG/MSG style side welds added on, and a picatinny rail welded up top.

I've got a parts kit, as far as receivers go I know using a real HK would be best but with 91 prices where they are I'm leaning more towards using a ptr receiver. I remember seeing pre bent and welded receivers at some point but I don't see any now.

Oct 5, 2020 · I recently picked up an apparently un-fired HK91. 1982 build (IC) and noted on the left side of the receiver (along with the HK and related markings) "Cal..308". Based on everything I have tried to read (and the internet is all over the map on this as you folks know), that rifle is chambered in .308 thus shooting 7.62x51 ammo should be good to go.
