In 1958 the 357 magnum was assigned the model number 27. Many would call your revolver a pre model 27. Take care of it. Those 3.5' model 27's are worth pretty big money. This is a Pre-model 17 K-22 Masterpiece. For old S&W 22's listing it as a model K-22 is adequate for the model number. It should have "Made in USA" or a 4 line trade mark stamp like this one, stamped on the right side over the trigger guard. With a S&W logo on the right or left side just in front of the grips.
