You can place your habitats first, then add the foundations, but the foundations are slightly smaller so the foundations would have spaces if you wanted them centered on the habitats (and thats with the 1x1 cubes.) #1. It has also been said that a T1 algae grower works better because its spread is smaller. At a stage in the game you won't need much algae anyway which is why I've just disassembled this setup.
