I've got a KFX 90 that won't start. I'm getting no spark. I've had issues with it for a while, but they are intermittent. It runs fine, put it away, a few days or a week later it won't fire. A few more weeks, it worked fine. Whe...My son's 2007 kfx 90 will start fine when kick started, but the start button only starts it very intermittently. Battery is new and has 12v. I know the starter is good, because if I bypass the starter relay (jump the wire that has 12v to the one that goes to the starter) it starts right up. This led me to believe it was the starter relay.I am leaning to weak spark the only way to test this is a spark gap tester about 9.00 from autozone. This tester is not a light it has 2 points the spark jumps across that is adjustable....This may be the only way to see if spark is enough to light it off. Compression good and getting fuel and air.

Dry the plug and reinstall. Then try to start. If it runs wait just a few seconds before opening the fuel valve. Then be sure to close the fuel valve before shutting it off. Once the cltuch nut is off, remove the front cover and sheave together. remove the spacer. reinstall the front sheave and the nut. Definatly do it. with the spacer in it'll do a whoopping 14 mph. with the spacer out, it'll do ~32 but you can easily cut that back with the throttle. it's much easier to ride without overrevving the crap out of it.2008 KFX 450R problems.
