Impala knocking noise.
Alex S. January 1, 2021. The most likely reason that there is a clicking noise in the dash of a 2011 Chevy Impala is due to a problem with the A/C system. Usually there will be a clicking noise when there is a problem with the blend door actuator. The blend door actuator adjusts the blend door to control where the air goes in Your car.
Sound propagates very well thru the plastic in the HVAC system, so it can be difficult pinpointing the position. You might try turning the key to ON, and turning the heat on, and then play with the controls (vent selector, hot/cold knobs, and recirc button) and see if you can affect the clicking. Sometimes they all go at once. You may still have a knock sensor problem, but since you upped the octane of you gas, the engine may not be knocking, therefore the noise went away. Knocking in dashboard on passenger side. I have a 2012 Chevy impala. When I open any of the four doors or unlock the doors with the remote there is a knocking noise in the dashboard on the passenger side. Even with no key in the ignition AC turn off fans are turned off it continues to knock. If they use the same suspension As the 2006-2011s, which I am pretty sure they do, they just changed the engine and trans in 2012, nothing else, the noise you call a popping could also be a very loud knock when turning the wheel. It could be your intermediate steering shaft.
