There are several methods of fixing the "shift to park" issue. The official method from the GM bulletin is replacement of a switch component along with the harness or replacement of the entire shifter. If the issue persists, contact your dealer so they can fix it.

So far it has happened to me 3 or 4 times in the past couple days. For a few weeks now I have experienced a rough shift between 3rd and 4th. It is what I would call a slip or flare. I think that is the same thing.
