Setup is viable. Loving+necrotic necrolord is good for low cata f6 mage, while juju paired with that gear is bad , so dont use juju. sceptre is good for clearing low health mob, midas staff is for miniboss ( but it blocks arrows so your archer might be mad at you ), so just get both. or just stay archer.
Try 2/4 storm, necro lord cp, and wither goggles with one piece on giant. Use something like a giant's sword for much better mage beam dmg. I used giant's sword until cata30.
