For my folks that's currently in the process of retraining into 1D7 I have a question. When you got your 422 back did it say you were qualified for the specific shreds you applied for or or did it just say you were qualified for 1D711? I listed the specific shreds I wanted when I applied but when I got my 422 it said I was qualified for 1D711.To me, this reads like 1D will be the new 1B. 1B Attack Ops, 1D Defense Ops, only the people who volunteer will become them, similar to 1Bs. They are still keeping the 3D career fields for DoDIN Ops, according to the power point. The 3D1X3 career field is crazy broad. Here on Andrews you can end up doing either the old ground radio job (2E1X3, ie PA setups, LMRs, Giant Voice, and GRT/GRRs) or you can end up in the VIIDS section doing work on cameras, sensors, and stuff like that.
